Red Skelton

Red was born into a circus family in Vincennes, Indiana, two months after the passing of his father.  Red was raised by his mother, who was in charge of wardrobe and makeup in the travelling circus show of Hagenbach and Wallace.  He was raised in the love of the circus people who were to become his first real family, leaving an imprint on him that he would carry throughout his life, which brought laughter and happiness to tens of millions of people around the world.

In addition to being an accomplished entertainer with television and MGM movie credits, Mr. Skelton has been acclaimed as one of America's greatest painters.  His original oil paintings and limited edition lithographs and serigraphs have been received with great acclaim by art critics and collectors around the world.
